Introducing Old Leake Primary Academy's brand-new Library!

We are thrilled to announce that Old Leake Primary Academy's new school library is now open and ready to welcome learners!

A thriving school library is the heart of reading within a school. Our goal is to provide children with access to a wide range of books to cater to all interests. We aim to develop a genuine love of reading throughout a child’s educational journey, and having a library filled with wonderful books is a key part of this mission!

The library has been specifically designed to encourage and celebrate reading for pleasure, fostering a reading culture that enriches learners’ academic and personal growth. Most importantly, we want children to develop a lifetime love of reading.

Our library currently boasts a large collection of both fiction and non-fiction books for learners to borrow, with even more on the way! We have ensured that our pupils are exposed to a wide variety of high-quality texts that are diverse and relatable.

Our inviting library space serves as the central hub of our school, offering a safe and quiet environment for learners to read, study, browse, and borrow books. Eventually, the library will feature various reading nooks, comfortable new shelves, and carefully designed areas where children can choose a book and lose themselves in its magic.

Mrs. Sherrick, our English Lead, will be supported by our Reading Ambassadors, who will help manage the library by issuing and returning books throughout the school day.

While the library is not yet fully completed, the improvements are already amazing to see, and we are incredibly proud of our new library.

We look forward to seeing our learners thrive in this wonderful new space!
